Dear U.S. Kids Golf families,
Now that you have some downtime, we’d like to suggest you watch a movie on Netflix called The Short Game.
Back in 2012, I was approached by one of our Daddy caddies, David Frankel, who, as I learned later, was the director of several well-known movies, including The Devil Wears Prada and Marley & Me. He told me how much our tournaments had impacted his family, and he wanted to share his experience, so he became Executive Producer of the project.
He found two young filmmakers in LA, who were willing to raise the money and take on the work. A year later, in 2013, the film was shot, and that fall it became Netflix’s first full-length feature documentary after winning the Audience Award at the South by Southwest Film Festival, among other numerous awards.
You might also want to know that David’s son, Jake Beber-Frankel, has signed to play golf at Stanford this fall.
I hope you enjoy.
